The Federal Government has cautioned Nigerians against falling victim to recruitment fraudsters and confirmed it will publicly announce any job openings in agencies under the Ministry of Interior once they receive official approval.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Maj. Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril (Rtd), stated that the Board had noticed a letter circulating on social media regarding its recruitment.
He emphasized that although the President has approved the hiring of new personnel in the four paramilitary agencies under the Board’s supervision, several formal procedures must occur before the recruitment begins.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, stressing that it will announce all job openings through national newspapers and ensure a fair and fee-free recruitment process.
The CDCFIB urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to scammers who exploit desperate job seekers for financial gain.
This clarification followed the viral circulation of an internal Ministry of Interior memo on Monday, which discussed the recruitment of personnel into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Correctional Service, and Federal Fire Service—sparking concern among Nigerian youths.
